Carter Schultz

Carter Schultz, 32, knew from a young age he wanted to follow in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps and to someday work in the family business at Schultz Furriers.  As a child, Carter and his friends spent most Saturday’s at the store with his parents. He cherished those memories and his time spent at the store with his friends and family.  Once he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Vermont in 2001, Carter returned to Schultz Furriers and joined his family to help grow and further develop the business.

Carter’s responsibilities at the store range from retail sales and services—including remodelings, repairs and cleanings, buying, merchandising, operations, business development—and event coordination.  His favorite part of the job is meeting and interacting with customers on a daily basis. Some have been familiar faces since the days his grandparents owned the store, others are new customers that he gets to develop relationships with.  His goal is to make each customer feel at home at Schultz Furriers and to feel like they can come in anytime just to say “hello.”

Alongside his brother Ashley, Carter’s goal is to further develop the business concept that his parents and grandparents spent so many years establishing.  He aims to modernize the store to appeal to newer generations, while maintaining strong relationships with customers built by his father and grandfather decades ago.

Carter currently resides in Denville, NJ with his wife Helen and son Jackson.
